Job Summary: The Signalling Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, testing, and repair of railway signalling systems and equipment. The role requires a strong understanding of electrical and electronic systems, as well as the ability to diagnose and rectify faults efficiently. The Signalling Technician ensures that all signalling systems operate safely and reliably to support the smooth operation of railway services. Key Responsibilities: Installation & Maintenance: • Install and maintain signalling systems and equipment, including signals, track circuits, point machines, and interlockings. • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure signalling equipment is functioning correctly. • Troubleshoot and repair faults in signalling systems to minimize downtime and ensure the safety of railway operations. Testing & Commissioning: • Assist in the testing and commissioning of new or upgraded signalling systems. • Verify that all wiring, connections, and components meet the required standards and specifications. Technical Support: • Provide technical support during emergency repairs and scheduled maintenance activities. • Collaborate with other team members to resolve complex signalling issues and challenges. Documentation & Reporting: • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and any issues encountered. • Report any safety concerns or potential hazards to the Signalling Engineer/Manager. Compliance & Safety: • Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures while performing duties. • Participate in safety briefings and contribute to a safe working environment.
