Job Description for Fire Fighting Technician • Inspect buildings, equipment, and fire fighting systems to identify any issues also to ensure everything is up to BOMBA standard in customer premises. • Service and maintain fire fighting equipment and fire fighting systems at customer premises to ensure proper functionality of fire fighting systems. • Repair faulty fire fighting equipment units and damaged items. • Develop and implement preventative maintenance procedures. • Install new fire fighting products, items, material, and equipment also test / commission them to ensure they are working correctly. • Educating the customer on how to use and maintain their fire fighting devices / system. • Provide customer support during emergency breakdown. • Diagnose problems and produce solutions to repair them. • Fill out detailed service report on each service performed by the maintenance team. • Explain issues with equipment and repairs to customers. • Perform other general tasks involving fire extinguisher services. • Assist customers during BOMBA inspections and checks. • Maintain good relationships with customers. • Maintain the inventory records for tools, equipment, and supplies. Qualification Requirement for Fire Fighting Technician • Ability to install, repair, service, test and troubleshoot fire fighting systems / equipment. • Must be able to read mechanical drawings, blueprints, and diagrams. • Ability to work flexible hours and work around a changing schedule. • Excellent communication, interpersonal and diagnostic skills. • Working knowledge of the tools and equipment needed for the job. • Ability to work independently without much supervision. • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job which include bending, lifting heavy equipment and working in confined spaces. • Possess valid vehicle license and reliable transportation. • Ability to effectively manage time. • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in fire fighting service industry is advantage. • In-depth knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. • Advanced understanding of general maintenance procedures and techniques. • Physically capable and available to work overtime including weekends and public holidays if required. • Effective problem-solving abilities. • Good written and verbal communication skills. • Must be well- organized and can prioritize tasks.
