Install, maintain, and repair fiber optic systems, including splicing and terminating fiber optic cables. 2. Troubleshoot and diagnose problems in the fiber optic system. 3. Perform tests on the fiber optic system using specialized equipment to ensure proper function. 4. Perform daily and weekly maintenance tasks to ensure the system is functioning properly. 5. Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used. 6. Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and company policies. 7. Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with clients and colleagues. 8. Maintain a clean and organized work environment. 9. Splice and terminate fiber optic cables in both indoor and outdoor settings 10. Perform fiber optic testing and troubleshooting to ensure network functionality and quality 11. Perform fiber optic network installations and upgrades, including new equipment installation and removal of old equipment 12. Conduct site surveys to determine network equipment requirements and identify potential obstacles to network installation 13. Maintain accurate records and documentation of all fiber optic cable splicing, testing, and installation activities 14. Assist in the development of project plans and timelines for fiber optic network installations and upgrades 15. Maintain a high standard of safety and quality control throughout all fiber optic work activities. 16. To install, maintain, and repair fiber optic cablings, such as for phones, internet, television, or other telecommunications cabling. 17. Other duties may include helping customers to set up new services, consulting with construction crews, and troubleshooting problems on existing network infrastructures. 18. To test each conductor to identify corresponding conductors in adjoining cable sections, according to electrical diagrams and specifications, to prevent incorrect connections between individual communication circuits or electric power circuits, using a test lamp or bell system. 19. Splices overhead, underground, or submarine multiple-conductor cables used in telephone and telegraph communication and electric-power transmission systems: Climbs utility poles or towers, utilizes truck-mounted lift bucket, or descends into sewers and underground vaults where cables are located. 20.
