The Position
The Testing & Commissioning Engineer will work both on-site and from our office, performing testing, adjusting, and balancing services, commissioning systems, and collaborating closely with clients, contractors, and internal teams. You will be responsible for developing and executing TAB procedures, analyzing system performance, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Job Responsibilities Include:
- Executing Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing (TAB) for HVAC, mechanical systems, and cleanrooms to ensure systems meet performance and design specifications.
- Developing and implementing testing and commissioning procedures, schedules, and documentation aligned with project requirements.
- Conducting system performance testing, troubleshooting, and verification to identify areas for adjustment and improvement.
- Collaborating with project teams, contractors, and clients to communicate findings, resolve issues, and recommend improvements.
- Utilizing AutoCAD and other relevant software for TAB and commissioning, along with Microsoft Office tools for documentation and reporting.
- Preparing detailed reports documenting test results, balancing data, and commissioning activities.
- Ensuring that all TAB procedures comply with industry standards and safety regulations, such as NEBB, ASHRAE, or AABC standards.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing (TAB) and/or commissioning of HVAC or mechanical systems.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and familiarity with other relevant software used in TAB and commissioning.
- Strong competency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, for data analysis and documentation.
- Basic knowledge of TAB standards, equipment, and techniques.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills for preparing reports and interfacing with clients and project teams.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects within deadlines.
Required Skills:
- Strong technical aptitude and attention to detail for interpreting and adjusting system designs and specifications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with clients, project teams, and field technicians.
- Highly organized and capable of handling multiple projects and documents in a fast-paced environment.
- Team player with strong problem-solving skills, able to handle challenges effectively.
