The Retail Store Manager oversees all aspects of the store, including all personnel, product, merchandising functions, business processes and results for the store. This role develops, directs, and motivates the store team which results in great service to all customers, generation of sales/profit and ensure the store is visually distinctive and impeccably maintained. In addition, the store manager maximizes employee productivity, ensuring consistent compliance with the execution of all company Policy & Procedures and maintains an environment that is results driven.

Sales Management

  • Plan and implement the overall store strategy.
  • Communicate scheduled sales reports in accordance with organizational standards.
  • Drive service quality and customer satisfaction for continuous improvement.
  • Achieves sales target and net income target, analyzing variance and initiating corrective actions.
  • Develop relationships and identify new business opportunities with house owners, architects, interior designers, and contractors to drive sales.
  • Communicate scheduled sales reports in accordance with organizational standards.
  • Suggest new operational strategies to improve store's performance and productivity.
  • Perform regular sales analysis & reviews to evaluate promotion and sales strategy effectiveness and to identify business opportunities.

Deliver Store Service & Operational Excellence

  • Manage resources to ensure smooth running of store operations and in-store service performance.
  • Develop store security policies and procedures.
  • Improve merchandising presentation and visual displays.
  • Recommendation of areas of improvement to continuously improve productivity.
  • Conduct data-driven functional analysis with CRM applications, etc.

Manage People

  • Provide direction and guidance to team.
  • Develop overall team capabilities by way of regular coaching and feedback on performance.
  • Define and allocate staff duties in accordance with store’s operational requirements.
  • Recruit, train and manage new store employees.
  • Train and evaluate store employees, providing periodic feedback to each staffs about their performance.
  • Create a healthy and enjoyable store work environment.
  • Train store employees on corporate policies, procedures and working culture.

Job Requirements:

  • Degree or Diploma in any relevant field of study.
  • Minimum 2 - 3 years of experience in managing a retail store.
  • Experience in sales & marketing related to building materials industry will be an added advantage.
  • Experience with using CRM analytical digital applications.
  • Candidate must be able to converse reasonably well in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
  • We are looking for someone who is also fluent in Mandarin as the role requires the candidate to deal with clients who speak this dialect.
  • Excellent abilities in customer service and relationship building.
  • Good time-management skills and strong discipline and work ethics.
  • Critical thinker with good problem-solving and analytical skills and abilities.
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills to all level staff and customers.
  • Ability to supervise and coach employees in areas of organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
  • This role is based in our Kota Kinabalu retail showroom.
