Electrical Engineering Project Manager

General Responsibilities:

• Responsible for daily management of project vendors to expedite the job.
• Managing relationship to jurisdictions and ROW contacts such as cities, counties and railroad. Working in close relationship with underlying rights group to identify and prepare encroachment permitting and building access agreements.
• Oversees timely permitting submittal and on time performance of engineering and subcontractors.
• Assists in the planning and implementation of electrical solutions and projects that adhere to approved plans, budgets and schedules.
• Coordinates and facilitates with internal and external resources to affect the timely completion of projects.
• Attend field meetings as required to ensure projects meet the delivery/ commitment dates identified.
• Occasionally meet with various municipalities and vendors to review project scope and to ensure positive communication is maintained.
• Provides direct interface with subcontractors, jurisdictional authorities and interoffice personnel.
• Oversees procurement of materials related to the assigned projects. [LOGISTIC/Material Purchase)
• Verify and update project documentation. [Offline/Online Tracker]
• Timely update of budget requests, purchase orders and project closure.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; a Master’s degree is advantageous.
• Proven experience in project management within the electrical engineering sector.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is preferred.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, design principles, and industry standards.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in project management software and tools.

Required Skills:

• Strong computer skills, with emphasis using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Earth.
• Ability and comfort putting together project estimates, budgets and schedules.
• Must be able to understand and read M&E documents.
• Business minded and able to maintain a commercial focus.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and is expected to drive as required to his/her assigned projects in order to ensure on time and on budget delivery.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Understanding of M&E design
• Analytical ability to monitor/review vendors’ financial and operational performances.

Physical Demands:

• Some business-related travel
• Work irregular hours, as required
