Responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects. This role involves the application of cost control measures, procurement of materials, and management of subcontracts to ensure projects are completed within budget, on time, and to the required standards.
Job Responsibilities:
Cost Management and Estimating:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects.
- Conduct cost analysis and benchmarking for project costs.
- Monitor and control project costs to ensure budgets are adhered to.
Procurement:
- Oversee the procurement process for materials and subcontractors.
- Prepare and evaluate tender documents and contracts.
- Negotiate and agree on contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
Contract Administration:
- Manage contract administration, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
- Handle contract variations, claims, and disputes.
- Prepare and issue interim and final payment certificates.
Financial Reporting:
- Produce regular financial reports and forecasts to track project performance.
- Conduct risk assessments and manage project contingencies.
- Advise on contractual and commercial risks.
Project Management Support:
- Work closely with project managers to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Attend site meetings and provide financial insights to the project team.
- Support project planning and scheduling activities.
Value Engineering:
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and value engineering.
- Implement strategies to optimize project costs without compromising quality.
- Compliance and Standards:
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and standards.
- Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and standards.
Client Liaison:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing regular updates on project financials.
- Address client queries and concerns promptly and professionally.
Documentation and Record-Keeping:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions and contract documentation.
- Ensure all documentation is properly filed and accessible.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying or contract management.
- Strong skills in cost management, procurement, contract administration, financial reporting and value engineering.
- Knowledgeable about construction processes and regulations, proficient in using quantity surveying software.
- Possess excellent analytical, numerical, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Possess own transport, and able to temporarily be based in Kota Damansara, Selangor (will be relocated to Sri Petaling)
