Design Engineer (HVAC)

Education and Experience

• A Minimum Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering
• At least 1 year of hands-on experience in HVAC and Mechanical Installation
• At least 1 year of experience in preparing tender submissions and quotations
• Good knowledge in Cleanroom Utility System, HVAC design, Thermodynamics, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Firefighting, Process Utility Systems and Civil Work
• Good working knowledge of ACAD, Excel, Word, Power Point and Microsoft Project
• Ability to utilize 3D BIM drawing system is an advantage

Accountabilities

• Assisting Senior Design Engineer and Design Manager in the Design – Project quotation and tender/direct enquiry proposal preparation.
• Communicate with the client and do detail study on site in getting all the correct information within a specific deadline.
• Interpret client’s requirements, respond promptly and keep superiors informed with the latest expectation or request.
• Study and prepare HVAC-Heat Load calculations to determine how much heating and cooling power various requirement according to the specification given.
• Study, prepare and design Cleanroom system requirement according to the specific project need.
• Analyze the requirement of the specific Cleanroom, M&E and Civil system within the enquiry.
• Research on design solutions, consider whether the design will work and be cost-effective. Assess the usability, environmental impact and safety of a design as well.
• Identify design issues, project design direction and establish plans for execution.
• Liaise and provide clients with technical advice to prepare, execute and fulfil the proposal/tender design.
• Update clients and/or their representatives (e.g., architects, engineers and surveyors) on the proposal preparation. Attend meetings when necessary.
• Manage daily activities by coordinating with other department (if any) to ensure the completion of work on time.
• Liaise with the local authority (where appropriate to the proposal/design job) to ensure compliance with local construction regulations and by-laws.
• Determine cost for all trade of work and to transfer the information into proposal or BOQ.
• Plan and prepare design drawing by working together with the Draughtsman or BIM Modellers within stipulated timeline.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: RM3,500.00 - RM5,000.00 per month
