IT Lecturer (AI Background)

Teaching & Instruction:

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver lectures, tutorials, and lab sessions on AI-related topics, including machine learning, neural networks, natural language processing, computer vision, and robotics, as well as foundational IT subjects.
• Use a variety of instructional strategies, including interactive and project-based learning, to engage students.
• Teach students at all levels, from introductory courses to specialized AI topics, ensuring they develop both conceptual understanding and practical skills.

Curriculum & Course Development:

• Design and develop advanced AI courses and update existing IT and AI-related course materials.
• Ensure courses are aligned with industry advancements, emphasizing cutting-edge AI technologies and their practical applications.
• Integrate ethical considerations in AI into the curriculum, discussing the societal and economic impacts of AI technologies.

Research & Innovation:

• Conduct original research in AI, publish in reputable academic journals, and present findings at international conferences.
• Secure research funding and collaborate with industry partners on AI research and development projects.
• Stay current with the latest AI research, innovations, and industry trends to enhance teaching and research activities.

Student Mentorship & Assessment:

• Provide guidance and mentorship to students, especially those engaged in AI research or AI-related projects.
• Develop assessments such as exams, projects, and research papers to evaluate students’ knowledge and application of AI and IT concepts.
• Offer academic advising, career counseling, and support for students aspiring to work in AI or IT fields.

Collaboration with Industry:

• Establish and maintain relationships with industry professionals to facilitate student internships, AI-related workshops, and collaborative research.
• Work on AI innovation and application projects in partnership with tech companies, contributing to real-world solutions.

Administrative & Departmental Duties:

• Participate in department meetings, program reviews, and curriculum planning.
• Assist in student recruitment and admission processes for AI-related programs.
• Contribute to accreditation efforts and ensure programs meet educational and industry standards.

Qualifications & Skills:

Education:

• PhD in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Data Science, or a closely related field is mandatory.
• A strong academic background in AI with a focus on areas such as machine learning, deep learning, AI ethics, computer vision, or natural language processing.

Experience:

• Proven teaching experience in AI-related subjects at the university or college level.
• Strong research background with publications in reputable AI journals or conferences.
• Industry experience in AI development, data science, or machine learning applications is a plus.

Skills:

Deep expertise in AI technologies including machine learning algorithms, deep learning frameworks, neural networks, and reinforcement learning.

• Proficiency in programming languages and tools commonly used in AI development (e.g., Python, R, TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch).
• Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex AI concepts to students of different levels.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research and supervise AI-related student projects.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM4,000.00 - RM5,000.00 per month
