Job Summary:
The Store Keeper in Fashion Retail is responsible for managing the flow of stock within the store or warehouse. This includes receiving, organizing, and issuing fashion products such as clothing, and accessories. The Store Keeper ensures accurate stock levels, smooth delivery of goods to the retail floor, and compliance with company standards for inventory management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management: Maintain up-to-date and accurate stock records for fashion items, ensuring that quantities match sales and display needs.
- Receiving Fashion Goods: Receive and inspect all fashion items delivered to the store or warehouse, ensuring quality, sizing, and quantity match the order.
- Stock Control & Rotation: Regularly monitor stock levels and initiate orders for replenishment when necessary, ensuring proper rotation of fashion goods according to seasonality and sales trends.
- Stockroom Organization: Ensure that all fashion items in the stockroom are organized efficiently by category, size, and style for easy access and quick restocking.
- Issuing Stock to Sales Floor: Work closely with the sales team to replenish shelves and displays on the retail floor, ensuring that all products are properly tagged and displayed.
- Documentation & Records: Maintain accurate records of all stock movements, including deliveries, returns, transfers, and shrinkage, using inventory management software.
- Stock Taking: Conduct regular stock counts and cycle counts to identify discrepancies and ensure the accuracy of inventory records.
- Seasonal Merchandise Preparation: Assist in the preparation of seasonal stock, including unpacking and preparing new lines of fashion merchandise for display or promotional events.
- Loss Prevention: Monitor the storage and handling of fashion items to minimize damage, theft, and loss.
- Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with health and safety guidelines, particularly in relation to manual handling and storage safety.
Qualifications:
- Education: Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification in inventory or supply chain management is a plus.
- Experience: 1-3 years of experience in retail or fashion storekeeping, warehouse management, or inventory control.
- Skills:Familiarity with fashion products and industry trends.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Experience using retail inventory management software.
- Attention to detail and ability to handle a fast-paced environment.
- Basic knowledge of visual merchandising is a plus.
- Ability to lift and move fashion items, including boxes and racks.
