Job Summary
The Senior Regional Accountant is in charge of processes related to the production of management accounts and reports for legal entities in the region in accordance with Group’s procedures. He/she is also the one dealing with Internal & External Audit as well as local tax authorities under the supervision of the Finance Controller – Asia Pacific (incl. Turkey and Kazakhstan).
Relationships
The Senior Regional Accountant (SRA) reports directly to the Finance Controller – Asia Pacific. Staffs assigned to this service, if any, report to this position.
Responsibilities and Principal Duties
General The SRA’s primary objectives are to:
- Support the Regional Finance Controller in planning, monitoring and control of the day to day Finance Operations in the region;
- Deliver reporting and analysis on time and in full to the Group with appropriate liaison with legal entities within the region, control and documentation;
- Support the maintenance of a strong internal control framework for the various entities.
1. Management Accounting & Reporting
- Ensuring the proper accounting codification (chart of accounts) and analytical codification of any accounting entries (within monthly P&L reporting);
- Ensuring the timely submission of accounts by the various entities for further processing and analysis by the Manager
- Production of the monthly P&L, Balance Sheet & Cashflows for the respective entities and the consolidated accounts
- Prepare the quarterly consolidated group reporting package using tools such as Hyperion
- Ensuring sufficient details for accounts are provided by the respective entities under Balance Sheet Notes
- Performing reconciliation of intercompany transactions within the entities for the period to ensure all amounts are reflected correctly
- Ensure the entities perform the necessary accruals for costs and other items requiring adjustments
- Prepare routine reports related to the analysis of revenue over a specific period
- Prepare routine reports related to the monitoring and analysis of receivables and payables Prepare presentations e.g. Power Point related to the performance of the region for internal consumption
- Ensuring the financial reporting requested by the Group:
# Cash and Bank balances;
# Weekly cash Collections;
# Intercompany reconciliations;
# Day Sales Outstanding reporting;
# Short Term Cashflow reporting;
2. Improve the internal control framework
- Working closely with the finance teams in the individual entities to ensure all financial transactions are recorded in compliance with company’s policies and procedures.
- Ensuring adherence to corporate ethical policies and internal controls within the entities.
- Assist in external audits throughout the region and ensuring good coordination in case of any external/internal/tax audit.
- Recommending and putting in place measures to improve the internal control framework.
3. Treasury Management
- Ensuring proper cash planning and coordination for the assigned geographical area (collection, payment, repatriation, request of funds, etc.) following Regional and Group’s guidelines;
- Support the administration of bank accounts
- Reporting cash payments and receipts weekly and monthly, including Capital Expenditure
4. Statutory and Tax Compliance
- Monitor tax compliance for the various entities in the region
- Informing Regional Finance Controller of any tax audit and working closely with the respective entities to ensure satisfactory resolution of audits and any issues
- Getting updated of latest tax/statutory modification of local legislations and informing Regional Finance Controller of the changes.
Previous Experience and Competencies
Education/Experience
- The selected person will ideally have a bachelor’s or similar educational background in accounting or finance with a minimum 5 years’ experience in performing similar services.
- Experience in a an international audit firm is preferred - Preference is given to persons with relevant demonstrated knowledge and experience of similar positions in a Senior Accountant role.
- Knowledge and Ability
-Strong knowledge in the accounting and finance field with analytical thinking
- Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle, Hyperion is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to work in a complex and fast paced environment
- Strong awareness of the regulatory directives for planning, monitoring, and control of the day to day finance operation
- Knowledge in oil and gas business is a bonus
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Thorough grasp of all OMS standards, processes and procedures

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: RM6,000.00 - RM9,000.00 per month
