Job Purpose

To provide technical support and financial analysis related to Group Financial Reporting in compliance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRSs) and other statutory requirements, as well as continue to provide insightful information to aid Management's decision making in order to achieve overall strategic business goals.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide technical advice to ensure the preparation of the Group Financial Statements is in compliance with the MFRS, Group policies and procedures, and other regulatory bodies where applicable.
  • Formulate Group accounting treatment for all subsidiary companies under Prasarana Group. Monitor the Group financial accounting policies and advise on the necessary accounting technical updates.
  • Provide analysis of trends and forecasts and recommend actions for optimization.
  • Analyze Group monthly financial reports and provide commentary on the financial performance. Provide continuous enhancements to reporting processes and SAP utilization.
  • Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies.
  • Review and enhance current Finance Policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) in relation to the Group financial reporting processes within each subsidiary/department/section.
  • Prepare new Finance Policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) in relation to accounting and financial activities to meet the standard of best practices, where required.
  • Handle any statutory and submission requirements from external parties such as the MOF and MOT. Participate in meetings/discussions to provide financial advice (internal and external). Perform any ad hoc tasks deemed necessary to achieve the Group’s objectives.

Qualifications, Skills & Knowledge

  • Minimum qualification Bachelor Degree of Accounting or equivalent.
  • Professional Accounting qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA, MICPA, CPA, or CA are preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of accounting and/or auditing experience.
  • Work experience with other GLC, GIC, MNC, or Big 4 audit firm is an added advantage.
  • Solid technical background, experience, and knowledge in handling Group Consolidation reporting.
  • Experience in year-end audit and statutory reporting, with a solid background in Audit Assurance & Reporting Compliance, etc.
  • Experience with SAP accounting software and data analytical tools such as Tableau, Power BI, dashboards, etc., for data analytics.
