A Mechanical and Electrical Supervisor is a professional responsible for overseeing and coordinating activities related to both mechanical and electrical systems within a project or facility:
Responsibilities:
- Supervision and Coordination: Manage and supervise teams of mechanical and electrical technicians or engineers. Coordinate their activities to ensure seamless integration between mechanical and electrical systems.
- Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of projects involving mechanical and electrical installations or maintenance.
- Quality Control : Ensure that all mechanical and electrical work meets quality standards and complies with relevant regulations and codes.
- Troubleshooting : Identify and resolve issues related to both mechanical and electrical systems. Diagnose problems and implement solutions to ensure optimal performance.
- Safety Compliance : Enforce safety protocols and regulations to maintain a secure working environment for the team and comply with industry standards.
- Budget Management : Monitor and manage budgets related to mechanical and electrical projects. Ensure cost-effective practices and efficient resource allocation.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records, including project plans, work orders, and maintenance logs. Prepare reports on project progress, budget utilization, and other relevant metrics.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, contractors, and subcon to ensure effective communication and coordination.
Qualifications:
- Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is typically required. Relevant certifications may also be beneficial.
- Several years of experience in both mechanical and electrical roles, with a progression into supervisory or managerial positions.
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical wiring, and control systems.
- Ability to lead and motivate teams, make informed decisions, and solve problems efficiently.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey information clearly and effectively.
- Experience in managing projects from initiation to completion, including planning, scheduling, and budgeting.
- Familiarity with local and national regulations and codes related to both mechanical and electrical systems.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
