Commis is responsible to maintain high standard of food preparation and service in the kitchen according to standards set by the Management; also responsible for storing ingredients and assisting with food preparation; and to ensure that the kitchen and storage areas remain clean at all times;

Major Responsibilities:

  • Under the general supervision of the Outlet Chef;
  • Ensures that mise-en-place is completed prior to service;
  • Acquainted and familiar with the use of all electrical and mechanical equipment in the kitchen and observes the safety precautions when handling them;
  • Ensures proper use and cleaning of equipment in order to prolong the use and prevent damage;
  • Maintains strict control on food portioning and wastage, ensuring gross food profitability;
  • Ensures that food quality and standards are maintained at all times when preparing for the restaurants;
  • To perform opening and closing procedures established for the place of work as assigned;
  • To have a thorough understanding and knowledge of all Kitchen related services and products;
  • To ensure that the place of work and surrounding areas is kept clean and organized at all times;
  • Cooperate and communicate with all serving and kitchen staff; and
  • Adhere to all relevant Health Department rules/regulations and all customer service guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Minimum SPM/ SPV certification;
  • Applicant with culinary certification encourage to apply;
  • Applicants with experience in the Food & Beverage and Hospitality service industry will be an added advantage;
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and ability to multitask without sacrificing accuracy in work;
  • Able to communicate in both written and verbal for Bahasa Malaysia and English language;
  • Team player who is highly independent self-motivated results-oriented and innovative;
  • Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment;
  • Ability to stand for extended periods;
  • Able to work on shifts, weekends and during Public Holidays;
  • Applicants must be willing to work in Shaftsbury Square, Cyberjaya.
