Overview:
You are responsible for leading and/or coordinating the mechanical maintenance tasks throughout the entire site. This includes daily mechanical maintenance execution, working closely with Maintenance Supervisor – Mechanical, Maintenance Executive and Maintenance Planner to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation. Additionally, you need to support the engineers in executing project works including involving in Turnaround and Shutdown activities, including overseeing the contractors.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure strict adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • The Mechanical Fitter assumes a high level of responsibility, supporting our production teams in their delivery of maintenance services by executing corrective, preventive, predictive, and proactive Maintenance strategies for various mechanical and rotating equipment for plant safe and reliable operation.
  • Responsibilities include monitoring, inspection, maintenance and overhaul, and troubleshooting, pf equipment.
  • Assist in the execution of facilities management and engineering project plans to ensure safe and reliable workplace and seamless implementation of new mechanical projects.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and planners to prioritize urgent tasks daily, with support from the production team as needed.
  • Immediately report any faults or failures to management during servicing and suggest necessary follow-up actions.
  • Gather and input pertinent data from operational records, inspection reports, and testing results to monitor the reliability and health of critical equipment.
  • Work closely with subject matter expert / relevant peers to assess and troubleshoot equipment condition using condition-based monitoring techniques, providing recommendations for reliability enhancement.
  • Manage maintenance and project work orders, along with associated documents such as checklists, service reports, and maintenance records by either in-house personnel or
  • contractors through available systems to ensure thorough documentation and traceability of all tasks.
  • Ensuring the availability of suitable tools and maintaining workshop equipment in optimal condition for plant maintenance tasks. Providing recommendations to the Superintendent for the specification, selection, and procurement of test equipment, workshop tools, personal tools, test benches, etc.
  • Collaborate with plant engineers, executives, and planners to identify essential third-party resources (e.g., scaffolding, lagging, fabrication) required to carry out activities.
  • Compiling work packages for TAR and other designated projects. Reviewing existing procedures or developing new ones as necessary.
  • Participating in plant/equipment investigations as needed.
  • Maintaining comprehensive maintenance records for the equipment in compliance with site Reliability and Asset Management framework
  • Preparation of daily report and follow up daily activities.
  • Report back on actions from HSSE committee or any other meetings or workshop to team members as well as superiors.
  • Represent work team on site meeting
  • Act as a supervisor for contractors
  • Guide junior mechanical team members as well as internship members to help them improve their technical skill.
  • Train groups of people on technical subjects within own area of expertise.
  • Fulfill any other duties assigned by Mechanical Supervisor.

Job Requirements:

  • Diploma / Certificate in Mechanical Engineering of equivalent.
  • Minimum 8 years in Oil, Gas & Chemical Plant Industries with major exposure in heavy-duty rotating equipment and high-pressure equipment.
  • Hands-on experience in high pressure hydrogen services is an added advantage.
  • Able to demonstrate good skill and knowledge in precision maintenance.
  • Highly skilled in mechanical equipment troubleshooting.
  • Good teamwork and adapting to fast changing priorities and time pressures.
  • Able to work on rotating shift basis.
