What You’ll Do
As HR Director for ASEAN and Taiwan, you will be based in Malaysia and have overall responsibility for HR management and activities in Malaysia, Thailand and Taiwan, as well as providing HR requirements to team members working in Indonesia and Vietnam as necessary. You will be part of our ASEAN leadership team and HR leadership team for Asia Pacific. HR leaders in Thailand and Taiwan, as well as HRBP in Malaysia will report directly to you. You will:
- Strategically lead and fully execute key HR Initiatives to support the business
- Take active part in decision making for profitable growth of the business as a member of ASEAN Leadership team.
- Drive corporate initiatives in the country and provide options to adapt it to enhance effectiveness of OD initiatives
- Providing strategic business support to key stakeholders within the relevant sub region
- Be an active member of Ops transformation for profitable manufacturing across all plants
- Be the change agent for organizational transformation in ASEAN and Taiwan
- Drive performance driven culture within the organization and create an environment where performance supersedes any other parameters
- Influence decision-making with leaders and key business partners
- Translate strategical concepts into actionable and effective plans
- Identifies opportunities for improvement in internal processes and makes constructive suggestions for change.
- Manage all employees’ relations. Coach and counsel employees and managers in addressing interpersonal and behavioral challenges.
- Assist in the interpretation and application of company policies through effective guidance for managers and employees, ensuring compliance with local labour requirements/ regulations.
- Ensure regulatory and policy compliance across the organization.
- Facilitate coordination with Operations, Commercial, and support functions to ensure smooth implementation of HR policies and programs.
- Develop and implement effective internal and external communication strategies to ensure effective communication between stakeholders.
- Lead performance management and compensation processes as per corporate guideline and in consultation with Total Rewards COE.
- Manage benefits program locally and benchmarking with market practices, assisting with benefits-related questions.
- Champion communications plan by driving understanding of business goals and objectives including lean initiatives.
- Drives organizational development, planning and creation of HR processes to build organizational capability.
- Develop and execute plans to build the SBD/Industrial brand in ASEAN and Taiwan.

- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field required, MBA or master degree is preferred
- At least 15 years of progressive HR experience including at least 5 years HR leadership or people leadership experience, experience in HR management in multiple Asian countries is preferred
- Hands-on and oversee HR experience in managing manufacturing plants, commercial teams and functions, understanding the differences and commonalities of each team.
- Capable of influencing plant/business leaders to drive HR initiatives.
- Experience in labour relationship management and workforce management
- HR management working experience in multinational companies, able to effectively communicate and manage stakeholders of different cultures and nationalities
- Proven track record of building strong relationships vertically and horizontally within an organization
- Must possess excellent communication, presentation and leadership skills
- Results oriented mindset with ability to prioritize and complete projects
- Self-motivated individual with the desire to succeed and motivate others
- Must be professional and customer focused
- Ability to manage confidentiality at all levels
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
