UCT is looking for a talented Technical Program Manager to join us in Malaysia!
This position will manage portfolios of 2 or more projects within Global Automation Team and reports directly to the Sr. Director of Engineering. This position will lead the development and the deployment of multi-disciplinary automated systems from early definitions phases to customer acceptance. Overall Program Management includes coordinate internal and external teams, create, and monitor the project planning & drive towards performances, schedules, budgets, and KOI’s. Technical Program Manager will be responsible for detailed automation project planning, execution including scheduling periodic governance reviews and at key project milestones. Annual automation goals and objectives will set the targets for success of every automation project to quality, delivery, and cost attributes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Technical Requirements:
- With a minimum of 5 years of experience in the followings:
- Automation Project Management in a manufacturing environment.
- Solid knowledge & experience in Physical automation: Mechatronics & robotics, Complex Mechanisms, Motion systems, controls, PLC’s, Vision systems, Pneumatics & Mechanical systems.
- Responsible for ensuring all the project requirements and/or objectives are correctly gathered, understood, and properly translated for execution.
- Organizes automation opportunities into cohesive groupings of projects. Manages the grouping as a portfolio of interconnected activities to achieve business results.
- Experience working in a Semiconductor Equipment mfg. or Contract Manufacturing company is an added advantage.
- Well organized, pay attention to details, methodical.
- A Team player and a great collaborator.
- A Great communicator – verbally and written.
- A Mechanical/Electrical/Mechatronics engineer.
- Fluent in English.
- Preferred global Automation project deployment experience.
- PMP Certification is a plus.
Project Management
- Provide technical leadership of multiple automation projects and develops strategy for project execution across a portfolio. Manage and monitor project tasks, performance details, project information and any changes that may adversely affect project success criteria.
- Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience; serves as coach / mentor for PM's as managed within a portfolio of projects or program. Drives automation penetration through learnings. Strategizes, defines, and drives integrated program requirements.
- Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective on existing solutions; exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
- Troubleshoot a variety of technical problems of moderate/high difficulty to address business improvement opportunities.
- Leads meetings both internal and external customers, captures minutes and prepares slide deck. Develops program and multi-project communication plans.
- Explains difficult or sensitive information. Interacts with suppliers. Interacts with customers. Host program reviews on business, technical and project lifecycle elements.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Robotics/Mechanical/Electrical/Mechatronics Engineering.
Work Experience:
- 5+ years’ experience as a Project or Program Manager in OEM or CM.
- Work may require out of town (Penang, Malaysia) travel (10 %).
