Responsibilities (RTE Food)

  • Conduct research and development for Malaysian, international, and Japanese cuisines.
  • Provide guidance and coaching on cooking techniques to production staff.
  • Implement cost reduction strategies for raw materials and packaging.
  • Develop and standardize SOPs for cooking methods for new products.
  • Update and manage the latest pricing in the system for any fluctuations.
  • Ensure the latest recipes are finalized and documented before launch dates.
  • Undertake additional tasks as assigned by superiors, aligning with KPIs.
  • Work closely with the R&D Deputy Manager.
  • Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure efficient operations.

Responsibilities (Bakery)

  • Lead product development from concept design to prototype creation, including weighing, preparation, shaping (including Danish pastry), baking, and simple packaging.
  • Prepare product samples for tasting, participate in product development meetings, and record minutes.
  • Conduct in-house monitoring and ensure the quality of product prototypes, with inspections supported by the QA team.
  • Develop new dough formulations and improve existing ones to enhance product quality.
  • Create and manage product specifications, manufacturing process manuals, and product information for new products.
  • Regularly perform sensory evaluations to ensure product quality and monitor the expiration dates of prototypes.
  • Stay updated on market trends, research new ingredients, and manage stock levels of ingredients to avoid dead stock.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Culinary Arts, or a related field.
  • Know and have experience in the process of making bread like weighing, preparation, shaping and baking.
  • Computer literate and Microsoft skills (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Able to work independently and as in a team.
  • Excellent time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent hygiene management as will be working in a food manufacturing factory.
  • Must have typhoid injection card.
  • Must be willing to do shift work.
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments at any given time in a team environment.

Good to have

  • 3 to 5 years experience in baking including Danish pastry.
  • Fluent in English and Malay.
  • Any certificate related to bread making.
