We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing various accounting functions, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and contributing to the financial health and accuracy of the organization. The ideal candidate should have strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of accounting principles, be a strong team player in a fast-paced environment and have a passion for identifying and implementing process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Ensure accuracy and compliance with IFRS and other applicable accounting standards.
- General Ledger: Manage and maintain the general ledger, including journal entries, reconciliations, closing activities and intercompany accounting reconciliations.
- Month-End Close: Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial plans. Provide variance analysis and financial insights to support decision-making.
- Accounts Receivable: Oversee all accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, revenue accruals and collections.
- Audit Preparation: Coordinate and manage external and internal audits. Ensure all documentation is complete and in accordance with audit requirements.
- Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations. Assist in tax planning and strategy.
- Process Improvement: Take initiative and drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the accounting department. Demonstrate an eagerness to learn.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and train junior accounting staff, providing guidance and oversight to ensure accuracy and adherence to best practices.
- Financial Systems: Utilize and maintain accounting software and systems (e.g., ERP systems), ensuring data integrity and effective reporting.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, advanced degree certification is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 -7 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior accounting role. Intercompany accounting experience is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Microsoft Dynamic SL, QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle), Intermediate/advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, SLQ Server Management, PowerBI and other financial reporting tools.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of IFRS, financial reporting, tax regulations, internal controls and intercompany accounting.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze financial data and provide insights that support strategic decision-making.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present financial information to stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial reporting and analysis.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues, think critically, and propose solutions to improve financial processes.
- Time Management: Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
