Research and identify potential suppliers/vendors. Obtain price quotations and negotiate terms and conditions. Maintain a comprehensive supplier database.
- Assist in the creation and processing of purchase orders. Review purchase orders for accuracy and completeness. Track and monitor order status to ensure timely delivery.
- Liaise with suppliers to resolve order discrepancies or issues. Communicate delivery schedules and expectations to suppliers. Maintain positive relationships with vendors.
- Monitor and update inventory levels to avoid stockouts. Assist in conducting regular stock counts and reconciliation. Coordinate with relevant departments to manage surplus or obsolete inventory.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, including purchase orders and contracts.Organize and file procurement documents for easy retrieval. Prepare reports and summaries as needed.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures. Assist in the evaluation and qualification of new suppliers. Stay up-to-date with procurement regulations and industry best practices.
- Assist in cost analysis and cost-saving initiatives. Identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising quality.
- Provide administrative support to the procurement team as required. Schedule meetings, maintain calendars, and assist with correspondence.
Requirement:
* Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
* Proven experience as a procurement assistant or in a similar role is a plus.
* Familiarity with procurement software and tools is an advantage.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
* Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong organizational and time-management skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
* Knowledge of procurement regulations and best practices is preferred.
* Willingness to learn and adapt to changing procurement processes.
* Integrity and ethical behavior in handling sensitive procurement information.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: RM2,800.00 - RM3,200.00 per month
