Position overview
allnex is on the lookout for an experienced and proactive Procurement Manager in Malaysia to lead our procurement activities, focusing on key goals like cost efficiency, working capital optimization, and ensuring a reliable supply chain. You’ll champion procurement excellence, continuous improvement, and compliance, all with a sustainable mindset. Responsibilities
- Lead procurement team in Malaysia and being as a game changer to challenge the status quo with aim to a continues improvement in terms of overall competitiveness (cost, service, quality, technology) cross spend categories in scope.
- A true manager who run & develop together with the team members and manage APAC regional Raw Material category spend; potentially, cross country management.
- Refresh, drive and execute procurement team roadmap and strategy in line with regional procurement goals and strategies, include also managing supply risks to ensure undisruptive productions across all sites supplied.
- Procurement Business Partner for Liquid Resin Additives (LRA): act as a conduit between the Procurement function and the business – boost, lubricate the communication; translate and embed suitable procurement strategy to facilitate business goals.
- Define transformational & structural sourcing opportunities to facilitate productivity saving, vendor consolidation and cash flow optimization.
- Drive excellence in procurement in the country, and contribute to corporate agendas on Sustainability and Digitalization.
- Challenge tactics and method of transactions with new sourcing options, open dialogues, smart & effective communication with all peers, counterparts and stakeholders.
Required skills and experience
- 5 years of sourcing experience in the chemicals industry, coatings experience is a plus.
- Procurement experience can be partially compensated by equivalent business, commercial, or technical experiences in the chemicals industry.
- A Savvy and practical leader, experienced in managing people in a matrix organization across in AP with diversity.
- Strong understanding of the petrochemicals feedstocks and raw materials markets, including supply demand balances and supplier cost drivers.
- Experienced in managing fine chemicals (broader categories) with complex and fragmented spend from both Direct from vendor-wise. Indirect (incl. logistic) experience is a plus.
- Strong negotiation skills and analytical skills including excel sheet and pivot table proficiency.
- SAP experiences required.
- Highly effective communicator, with strong influencing and conflict resolution skills.
- Proficiency in English is required; additional languages is a bonus.
- Willing and able to travel domestically & internationally.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Procurement/Supply Chain Management or related field.
