Job Description for Senior Purchaser:

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the procurement process of agricultural raw materials, equipment, and supplies for multiple departments or regions.
  • Develop and implement strategic procurement plans aligned with company objectives and inventory management needs.
  • Lead supplier selection, evaluation, and performance reviews to ensure high-quality sourcing.
  • Negotiate and establish long-term contracts, pricing, delivery schedules, and payment terms to ensure competitive and cost-effective procurement solutions.
  • Review and approve purchase orders, ensuring accuracy in order confirmations, invoices, and payments.
  • Manage inventory forecasting, monitor stock levels, and collaborate with warehousing and logistics teams for effective supply chain management.
  • Ensure all purchased materials and products meet the company’s quality standards and compliance requirements; address quality concerns and oversee corrective actions.
  • Conduct advanced market research to stay updated on industry trends, price fluctuations, and emerging products.
  • Generate reports, perform data analysis, and provide insights for senior management decision-making, budgeting, and cost-saving strategies.
  • Ensure adherence to procurement policies, industry regulations, and company standards, and maintain comprehensive procurement records.
  • Lead and mentor junior purchasing staff and assist with training, process improvement, and best practices in procurement activities.
  • Collaborate with various departments to support company goals and optimize procurement operations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by senior management.

Requirements:

  • Candidate must possess at least a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Agriculture/Forestry/Plantation Management, or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia is required; Mandarin proficiency is a plus.
  • At least 5 years of relevant working experience in procurement, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or senior role.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and strategic planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects efficiently.
  • Proficient in using procurement software (experience with Auto Count is an advantage).
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proven track record in cost management and supplier relationship building.
  • Willingness to travel to various sites as needed.

Salary: RM 4,000 – RM 6,000
Working Hours: 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM (Monday to Friday)
