Lead Risk & Safety Consultant

Job Responsibilities:


  • Facilitate risk and safety assessment workshops within BV Malaysia and SEA region.
  • Conduct formal safety assessment studies, including Quantitative Risk Assessment and more.
  • Facilitate risk workshops such as HAZID/ENVID and others.
  • Prepare/review safety instrumented function summary and formal safety assessments reports.
  • Guide the team in modeling software and supervise safety cases preparation.
  • Review safety studies reports and perform fire protection studies.
  • Lead project activities and deliverables according to the project schedule.
  • Prepare technical proposals for Risk and Safety assessment studies.

Other Responsibilities:


  • Assist BV Business Development in preparing proposals and marketing of BV products.
  • Represent Bureau Veritas on related exhibitions/committees/work groups.
  • Provide internal training to engineers and support task delegation to the team.
  • Develop good working relationships with clients and deliver effective technical solutions.
  • Perform scope screening at the initiation of bidding activities.

Job Requirements:


  • Degree in Chemical Engineering; preferably a Master's in Safety Engineering.
  • Certification as a Functional Safety Engineer/Professional is an advantage.
  • Chartered Engineer or professional accreditation preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years consultancy experience in a similar position.
  • 10-15 years working experience in risk and safety studies for oil and gas, petrochemical industries.
  • Experience with major operators in the region is valued.

Critical Skills & Personal Attributes:


  • Proven experience in a Risk & Safety Engineering role.
  • Ability to facilitate Technical Safety Reviews and develop AI PSM roadmap.
  • Strong ethics and integrity, capable of leading a team of consultants.
  • Strong collaboration skills to ensure customer satisfaction and effective client interfacing.
