Inspector of Works (IOW)

Key Responsibilities:- Inspection and Quality Control: -Conduct regular inspections of construction activities, materials, and workmanship to ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings, and relevant regulations. -Prepare and maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and reports on work progress and quality. -Identify defects or discrepancies in work and provide solutions or corrective action as needed. Compliance and Standards: -Verify that materials and products used meet required standards and certifications. Project Support: -Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and project managers to resolve any technical issues that arise during construction. -Review design documents and drawings to ensure practical implementation. Reporting and Documentation: -Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on the progress of construction works, highlighting any concerns or issues. Communication and Coordination: -Liaise with contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure work is being carried out as per the agreed-upon schedule. -Address any on-site issues or concerns promptly and report significant issues to the Project Manager. Risk Management: -Identify potential risks or hazards on site and advise on preventive or corrective actions. -Monitor the implementation of safety measures and work closely with the Health and Safety Officer.
