Overview:
Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of equipment and processes in the ISBL Production units (Feed Pre-treatment, Renewal Fuel Hydo processing and Distillation, Hydrogen Production Unit). Perform routine inspections, monitor equipment performance, and troubleshoot operational issues to ensure uninterrupted production. This role requires a strong understanding of plant operations, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Equipment Operation: Operate and monitor field equipment, including pumps, compressors, valves, and control systems, to maintain optimal operating conditions and production rates
- Routine Inspections: Conduct routine inspections of equipment and facilities to identify potential issues or abnormalities. Perform preventive maintenance tasks and report any maintenance requirements or safety concerns.
- Process Monitoring: Monitor process variables, such as temperature, pressure, flow rates, and levels, to ensure compliance with operational parameters and quality standards. Respond to alarms and deviations in a timely manner.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety procedures and regulations at all times, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), equipment isolation procedures, and emergency response protocols.
- Environmental Compliance: Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permit requirements related to emissions, spills, and waste management. Report any environmental incidents or concerns to the appropriate personnel.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of field activities, equipment readings, maintenance tasks, and safety inspections. Complete work orders, log entries, and incident reports as required.
- Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with shift supervisors, control room operators, maintenance technicians, and other team members to coordinate activities and resolve operational issues.
- Training and Development: Participate in training programs and skills development initiatives to enhance technical competencies and job proficiency. Stay informed about new technologies, procedures, and best practices relevant to field operations.
- Emergency Response: Respond to emergencies, such as equipment failures, leaks, or spills, following established procedures and protocols. Take appropriate actions to mitigate risks and ensure the safety of personnel and the environment.
Job Requirements:
- Min. SPM/SVM/SKM or equivalent and above; Diploma/Advanced Diploma is preferred.
- Previous experience as a process operator (min. 5 years), in an industrial setting, such as oil & gas, chemical manufacturing, petrochemicals or refining.
- Experience in Hydroprocessing (Hydrotreator, Hydrocracker), Oleorefinery would be an added advantage.
- Familiarity with safety regulations, environmental compliance standards, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Knowledge of field operations, equipment maintenance, and safety procedures.
- Familiarity with process control systems, instrumentation, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Physical fitness and the ability to perform tasks requiring moderate to heavy lifting, climbing, and manual dexterity.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other relevant software applications.
Job Type: Permanent
Pay: RM4,500.00 - RM6,000.00 per month
