Accounts Executive
The accounting associate will help to manage the financial operations of our restaurant group alongside our third-party accounting vendor. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial records, monitoring expenses, preparing financial statements, and providing financial insights to support strategic decision-making. Your meticulous attention to detail and strong analytical skills will contribute to the financial management and success of our company.
1. Financial Reporting:
- To maintain a full set of accounts for our outlets both online (accounting software) and offline (record keeping and reconciliation)
- To assist our third-party accounting vendor to prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for each restaurant within the group. Generate income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements to provide a clear overview of financial performance.
- To assist our third-party accounting vendor to monitor and report on key financial metrics and trends to senior management.
- Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure financial accuracy. Implement and enforce financial policies and procedures across the restaurant group.
2. POS reporting and outlet financial management:
- Collaborate with restaurant managers to develop annual budgets and financial forecasts from information pulled from POS system. Track budget performance, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions when necessary.
- Oversee accounts payable processes, including invoice processing and vendor payments. Manage accounts receivable, monitoring customer payments and addressing outstanding balances.
- Review and approve restaurant expenses, ensuring compliance with company policies. Implement cost-saving measures and recommend strategies to optimize operational efficiency.
3. Tax Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations. Prepare and submit tax returns and reports in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with external auditors during financial audits and assist in the preparation of audit schedules.
4. Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation. Ensure all financial transactions are properly documented and archived.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; ACCA/CFA certification is a plus.
- Proven experience as an accountant of 2-3 years, preferably in the restaurant or hospitality industry.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, SQL) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with restaurant-specific financial considerations is a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: RM4,500.00 - RM5,500.00 per month
