Job Overview:
The Retail Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of assigned stores within a designated area, ensuring they meet and exceed company goals in sales, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency. This role involves managing store teams, optimizing store performance, executing company initiatives, and ensuring a consistently high standard of customer experience. The ideal candidate is an organized, results-driven individual with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of retail dynamics.
Key responsibilities:
1) Store Operations Management
- Oversee daily operations of assigned stores, ensuring they run efficiently and meet organizational standards.
- Implement and monitor compliance with company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Regularly audit stores to ensure adherence to brand standards, cleanliness, and overall presentation.
2) Sales and Performance Management
- Work with store teams to achieve sales targets and maximize profitability.
- Analyze sales data, KPIs, and other performance metrics to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Develop and execute strategies to drive revenue growth and enhance store productivity.
3) Customer Experience and Brand Consistency
- Ensure that each store provides an exceptional customer experience, aligned with brand values and customer expectations.
- Implement customer service standards and monitor customer feedback to continuously improve service quality.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to execute in-store promotions, seasonal campaigns, and other customer engagement activities.
4) Team Leadership and Development
- Recruit, train, and develop store staff to build a high-performing team.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching, feedback, and support to help staff achieve individual and store goals.
- Foster a positive and motivating work environment that encourages teamwork, accountability, and growth.
5) Inventory and Merchandising
- Manage inventory levels to ensure product availability while minimizing overstock and wastage.
- Oversee visual merchandising standards, ensuring product displays align with brand guidelines and optimize sales.
- Collaborate with the supply chain team to manage stock replenishment and resolve any inventory-related issues.
6) Financial and Budget Management
- Monitor store expenses and ensure alignment with budget targets.
- Identify opportunities for cost control and implement measures to improve store profitability.
- Work with finance and senior management to set and monitor financial goals.
7) Reporting and Communication
- Prepare regular reports on store performance, sales, customer feedback, and other relevant metrics for senior management.
- Communicate company goals, new initiatives, and performance expectations to store teams clearly and effectively.
- Act as the main point of contact between stores and the Head of Retail, ensuring smooth information flow and alignment.
Job requirements:
- Around 5-7 years in retail, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Experience managing a store, team, or even multiple store locations is often preferred.
- Possess strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to train, develop, and retain a high-performing team while ensuring smooth daily operations, compliance with company policies, and adherence to health and safety standards.
- Experience in managing employee performance and motivation is essential.
- Demonstrated experience in driving sales, meeting or exceeding targets, and improving customer service standards.
- Proficiency in budgeting, financial planning, and P&L management. Strong skills in stock control and inventory management to maximize profit margins.
- Ability to analyze sales data, customer trends, and KPIs to make informed decisions.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with customers, employees, and upper management.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, as required in retail management.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: RM6,000.00 - RM7,000.00 per month
