Lead Risk Consultant for Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate risk and safety assessment workshops in Malaysia and Southeast Asia.
• Conduct formal safety assessment studies, including quantitative risk assessments.
• Facilitate risk workshops such as HAZID/ENVID.
• Prepare and review safety instrumented function summaries and formal safety assessments reports.
• Guide the team in modeling software and supervise safety cases preparation.
• Review safety studies reports and perform fire protection studies.
• Lead project activities and deliverables according to the project schedule.
• Develop technical proposals for risk and safety assessment studies.

Other Tasks:

• Assist in preparing business development proposals and marketing of BV products.
• Represent Bureau Veritas at related exhibitions and committees.
• Provide internal training to engineers and support task delegation to the team.
• Develop strong working relationships with clients and deliver effective technical solutions.
• Perform scope screening at the initiation of bidding activities.

Requirements:

• Degree in Chemical Engineering or Safety Engineering.
• Certification as a Functional Safety Engineer is an advantage.
• Chartered Engineer or professional accreditation preferred.
• Minimum 3 years consultancy experience in a similar position.
• 10-15 years experience in risk and safety studies for oil and gas and petrochemical industries.
• Experience with major operators in the region is valued.

Critical Skills & Personal Attributes:

• Proven experience in a Risk & Safety Engineering role.
• Ability to facilitate Technical Safety Reviews and develop AI PSM roadmaps.
• Strong ethics and integrity, capable of leading a team of consultants.
• Strong collaboration skills to ensure customer satisfaction and effective client interfacing.
