The Outlet Manager will be in charge of the beverage and food operations for the outlet.

Ensuring that customers receive high-quality meals and drinks and superb customer service is part of the Outlet Manager’s job description. This is in addition to general administrative tasks related to budgeting, cost control, staffing, stocking supplies, promotion and restaurant strategy and P&L accountability.

  • Brewing the best coffee the world has to offer.
  • Communicating clearly, concisely and accurately to ensure effective store operations.
  • Ensuring quality assurance and control of all food, beverage and service provided.
  • Maintaining the best maintenance of the kitchen and store, conducting regular spot checks.
  • Ensuring that the spend per head is increasing month on month & year on year, without jeopardizing guest satisfaction and quality.
  • Monitoring previous day sales accuracy and results. Reconciliation of all payment methods, daily cash sales, petty cash and cash float.
  • Monitoring and reporting daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly sales and store results.
  • Managing store supplies by monitoring outlet stock levels and placing orders accordingly.
  • Controlling wastage management.
  • Overseeing the onboarding process for new staff and training program implementation and efficiency.
  • Cultivating a training culture within the store team to ensure succession planning and a culture of excellence.
  • Fostering a positive team environment by recognising and addressing changes in partner morale and performance, and effectively communicating them to the Operations Manager.
  • Demonstrating integrity, honesty, and knowledge that promote illy’s culture, values and mission.
  • Maintaining a calm demeanour during high volume or unusual events, ensuring the store operates to expected standards and serving as a positive example for the shift team.
  • Developing positive relationships with the shift team by understanding individual motivation, needs, and concerns.
  • Engaging in conversation with customers to understand their needs and the needs of the store’s community.
  • Responding to immediate store needs by utilising external resources such as Team Member Support from HQ, Cafe Resources and Food & Beverage.
  • Reviewing store environment and key business indicators to identify problems, concerns and opportunities for improvement to provide coaching and direction to the shift team to achieve operational goals.
  • Communicating ideas for productivity and sales improvement to the Operations Manager.
  • Implementing company programs by working directly with the shift team to execute action plans that align with operational and organisational objectives.
  • Recognising and reinforcing individual and team accomplishments through existing organisational tools and making recommendations to the District or Operations Manager for new and creative methods of recognition.
  • Utilising operational tools and providing direction to staff members during their shifts to achieve operational excellence.
  • Acting as a coach and mentor to staff by using discretion in assessing performance, providing feedback and coaching for improvement, and making effective recommendations to the Operations Manager regarding employment decisions.
  • Candidates must possess at least Diploma.
  • Leadership and Team ManagementProven ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team to ensure smooth daily operations and maintain high levels of staff performance and morale.
  • Operational and Financial ExpertiseStrong understanding of inventory management, budgeting, and cost control to optimize resources and achieve financial targets.
  • Customer Service FocusExceptional interpersonal and problem-solving skills to handle customer feedback, ensure satisfaction, and uphold the café's service standards.
