Our company is looking for an organized, independent, and self-motivated QASHE Coordinator that will ensure the company's strategy is adhered to and carried out. The role also requires the candidate to bring in best practices in continuous improvement plans and activity into the organization.

The QASHE Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the effective implementation of the Quality, Occupational Safety, Health, and Environmental (QASHE) management system at the workplace. The role involves coordinating safety and health programs, conducting inspections, training, and audits, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, and assisting the QASHE Lead in maintaining a safe, healthy, and environmentally compliant work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Monthly OSH Site Inspections & SHASSIC Assessment

  • Conduct monthly Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) site inspections using the SHASSIC (Safety and Health Assessment System in Construction) assessment tool.
  • Identify hazards, assess risks, and ensure appropriate control measures are implemented.
  • Prepare and submit a detailed monthly OSH inspection report, highlighting identified risks, corrective actions, and preventive measures.

2. Monthly QASHE Meetings

  • Organize and conduct monthly QASHE meetings with the main contractors and project stakeholders.
  • Ensure all key topics related to safety, health, quality, and environmental concerns are discussed and documented.
  • Prepare and circulate meeting minutes, ensuring follow-up on action items.

3. OSH Induction & Re-training

  • Conduct OSH inductions for new staff and workers, ensuring they are fully aware of safety protocols, emergency procedures, and company policies.
  • Facilitate re-training sessions for existing staff as necessary to ensure compliance with safety and health regulations.

4. QASHE Induction Slide Updates

  • Regularly review and update QASHE induction slides to ensure they reflect the latest legal, regulatory, and company-specific requirements.
  • Ensure that all new employees receive the most up-to-date training materials.

5. Renewal of Certifications & Cards

  • Manage the renewal process for critical certifications such as CIDB Green Cards, PMA, and PMT certificates for all relevant employees.
  • Maintain accurate records of certifications and ensure that all required personnel are properly trained and certified.

6. Monthly Manpower Records

  • Collect and maintain accurate monthly records of total manpower on-site, including workers’ roles, certifications, and training status.
  • Ensure records are up-to-date and compliant with legal and company requirements.

7. Document Control for ISO Systems

  • Serve as the document controller for ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001, ensuring that all documents related to these standards are accurately maintained, updated, and compliant.
  • Coordinate the document approval process, ensuring that revisions are tracked and properly stored.

8. Assist QASHE Lead in Safety and Health Matters

  • Assist the QASHE Lead in handling all matters related to safety, health, and the environment.
  • Advise the employer or the person in charge on appropriate safety and health measures to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Assist with the implementation and monitoring of OSH programs, policies, and procedures at the workplace.

9. Accident & Incident Investigation

  • Investigate accidents, near-miss incidents, dangerous occurrences, occupational poisoning, and occupational diseases on site.
  • Ensure that root causes are identified, corrective actions are implemented, and preventive measures are put in place.
  • Compile and maintain accident records, including detailed analysis and reports.

10. Safety and Health Committee Support

  • Support the safety and health committee (if applicable) in organizing and implementing safety programs and initiatives.
  • Serve as the secretary to the safety and health committee, preparing agendas, meeting minutes, and following up on action items.
  • Assist in regular inspections to assess the effectiveness of safety measures and policies in place.

11. Data Collection & Reporting

  • Collect, analyze, and maintain statistics on workplace incidents, accidents, near misses, occupational diseases, and environmental impacts.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on safety and health performance to senior management.
  • Provide recommendations for improvement based on data analysis and trends.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in a safety, health, and environmental (SHE) role, preferably in a property developer / construction.

Professional Certifications:

  • Certified Safety and Health Officer (SHO) or Safety & Health Supervisor (SSS) with Department of Occupational Safety & Health (DOSH).
  • Construction Safety and Health Officer (CSHO) certification.
  • ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001 lead auditor or internal auditor certification is preferred.
  • Train the Trainer (TTT) certification is a plus.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of occupational safety and health regulations, environmental laws, and quality management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001).
  • Proficiency in using SHASSIC for safety assessments and inspections.
  • Ability to conduct risk assessments and identify safety hazards.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to prepare detailed reports, minutes, and action plans.
  • Familiarity with the property development / construction industry and associated safety requirements is preferred.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Contract length: 24 months
