Primary Responsibilities: Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Compliance: 1. Permits and Legal Compliance: o Oversee and manage permit requirements such as CePSWaM, eSWIS reporting to DOE, and other statutory requirements as mandated by Malaysian law. o Liaise with Malaysian regulatory authorities (e.g., DOSH, DOE, BOMBA, MOH) to ensure full compliance with legal safety and environmental requirements. o Support Singapore Sunlight Company with safety matters, ensuring compliance with applicable Singaporean regulations (e.g., Workplace Safety and Health Act). 2. HSE Policies and Risk Management: o Implement HSE policies, guidelines, and programs in alignment with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards. o Conduct regular workplace risk assessments and enforce control measures. o Develop, review, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for safety and emergency response. 3. Incident Management: o Monitor and assess hazardous conditions, correct unsafe acts, and ensure hazard-free environments. o Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and recommend preventive measures. 4. Emergency Preparedness: o Conduct safety drills and emergency response exercises. o Address safety concerns raised by employees and provide actionable solutions. 5. HSE Monitoring and Reporting: o Lead the HSE Committee and manage the HSE scorecard (Lost Time Injury & Illness Rate, leading indicators). o Prepare and submit timely reports to regulatory authorities, both in Malaysia and Singapore, as required. o Ensure that employees are well-equipped to handle equipment and safety tools through regular skill-building sessions. ________________________________________ Machine Maintenance and Repairs: 1. Preventive Maintenance: o Develop and execute preventive maintenance schedules for machinery to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime. o Maintain comprehensive records of maintenance activities and identify trends for proactive measures. 2. Machine Repairs: o Oversee the repair and troubleshooting of equipment issues to maintain operational efficiency. o Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for replacement parts and specialized maintenance tasks. ________________________________________ Qualifications and Skills: • Diploma or Degree in Science, Engineering, or related discipline. • At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on safety and machine maintenance. • Strong knowledge of Malaysian and Singaporean regulatory requirements, including the OSH Act, Environmental Act, and BOMBA SOP. • Experience with workplace risk assessment methodologies and ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 implementation. • Technical knowledge in machine maintenance and repair processes. • Excellent report-writing and communication skills. • Strong leadership skills to manage HSE Committees and cross-border coordination. This role ensures compliance with legal safety standards, promotes operational safety across two countries, and optimizes machine functionality to support business objectives effectively.
