ICT Technician

Responsibilities • Provide technical support for hardware, software, and network-related issues. • Perform installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT equipment, including computers, printers, projectors, and interactive whiteboards. • Manage inventory of IT assets, ensuring proper documentation, tracking, and procurement of equipment and software. • Handle ad hoc troubleshooting of technical issues to minimize disruptions to teaching, learning, and administrative functions. • Monitor and manage the school’s network infrastructure, ensuring security, stability, and efficient connectivity. • Support the integration and use of educational technology tools across classrooms and administrative departments. • Set up and provide technical assistance for school events, online learning platforms, and virtual meetings. • Regularly update and maintain IT systems, software, and user accounts, including email and permissions. • Collaborate with the ICT team to develop procedures for system updates and security enhancements. • Provide training and documentation for staff to maximize effective use of technology. Requirements • Minimum Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. • Proven experience in IT support or a similar role, preferably within an educational institution. • Strong skills in troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues. • Familiarity with inventory management tools and practices. • Understanding of networking concepts, including LAN, WAN, and Wi-Fi. • Experience with educational technology platforms (e.g., Google Workspace for Education, Microsoft Teams) is advantageous. • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with attention to detail. • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and respond to urgent troubleshooting needs. • Commitment to maintaining a secure and reliable IT environment for the school community.
