1.As a member of a teaching team within an established programme of study, support the teaching objectives of the department by delivering teaching to students through allocated lectures, tutorials, clinical, practicals and seminars. 2.Directly supervise students, providing advice on study skills and helping with learning problems. Identify the learning needs of students and define learning objectives. Set and mark coursework and exams, providing constructive feedback to students. 3.Provide clinical instruction and supervision to students in the areas of human diseases , demonstrate expertise in clinical practice, ensuring adherence to best practices and standards of care. 4.Develop own teaching materials, methods and approaches, with guidance. Obtain and analyse feedback on own teaching design and delivery to facilitate this. 5.Participate in the development, administration and marking of examinations and other assessments. 6.Continually update own knowledge and understanding of subject area, incorporating knowledge of advances into own teaching contributions. 7.Liaise with specialists of the affiliated MoH hospitals for the smooth coordination and conduct of hospital posting and chairside/bedside teaching or with any other external bodies, in relation to academic matters. 8.Contribute to the efficient management and administration of the department by performing administrative duties as allocated. 9.Perform research and produce publications, or other research outputs and participate in departmental and faculty seminars aimed at sharing research outcomes and building interdisciplinary collaboration within and outside the department. 10.Any other duties as allocated by the line manager following consultation with the post holder which include student recruitment; and supporting the implementation of the MUCM strategic plan. General Requirement: 1. Candidate must possess an MBBS or medical qualification recognised by the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC) and post-graduation qualification in the related field. PhD is an added advantage. 2. Detailed understanding and knowledge in the relevant subject area 3. Able to manage and deliver own course units and contribute to team-taught course units 4. Able to directly supervise work of students 5. Able to contribute to the department’s management and administrative processes 6. Work effectively in a team, understanding the strengths and weaknesses of others to help teamwork development 7. Able to contribute to the design of course units, curriculum development and new teaching approaches in the department Special Requirement: 1. Candidates must be a registered Specialist with the National Specialist Register (NSR) in related discipline. 2. At least 3-5 Year(s) of working experience in the related discipline is required for this position. 3. Proven track record in undergraduate teaching for Dental programmes. 4. Malaysian applicants must have valid MMC and APC registration when applying for this position. 5. Non-Malaysian’s must pass Professional Qualification Examination (PQE) conducted by Malaysian Dental Council.
