Responsibilities:

Team management:

1. Manage and lead the interior design team, who designs, coordinate and execute multiple simultaneous projects within timeline. This includes hiring and training designers, assigning projects and conducting performance reviews.

2. Lead and empower team members to proactively flag and solve project issues.

3. Assist team members in learning processes and growing professionally.

Design direction:

1. Establish the design direction and vision for the company. For eg: Design principles,

design standards, style guidelines for work qualities and consistencies.

Project oversight:

1. Oversee all interior design projects undertaken by company. For eg: Review design

concepts in order to meet clients’ requirements and provide guidance and support

to interior designers throughout the project’s lifecycle.

2. Perform site visits upon project completion before handover to client.

Client interaction:

1. Involve in client meetings and presentations to discuss on design concepts,

understand clients’ needs and preferences as well as address concerns & feedback.

Budget and resource management:

1. Responsible to manage departmental budget and resource allocation effectively to

ensure projects are completed within financial and timeline constraints.

Collaboration with other departments:

1. Collaborate with other departments within the organization (project team and other

relevant departments) and clients to ensure seamless integration of interior design

with overall project requirements.

Quality control:

1. Ensure interior design outputs meet the highest quality standards and complies with

all relevant regulations and industry best practices.

2. Key person to ensure zero-error that could expose company from bearing any

financial risk during both design drawing and actual construction stages.

Trends, industry knowledge and innovation:

1. Stay abreast with latest design trends, materials technologies and construction

techniques. Encourage innovation within the team and incorporate new ideas and

approaches into projects.

2. Crucial to stay updated constantly on latest building legislation and relevant code of

practices

Business Development:

1. Involved in pitching for new projects, building client relationships and contribute to

departmental growth.

Professional Development:

1. Support subordinate growth by reviewing and providing opportunities for training

on skills development.

Reporting:

1. Weekly or bi-weekly meeting will be required.

2. Ongoing review and improvise workflow format reporting, presentation flow and

format for management and clients.

Qualifications Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture or a related discipline.
  • Min 7-8 years of working experiences in Interior Design field, specialize in residential or commercial projects.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, SkectchUp, Adobe Photoshop, 3D Max, V-Ray and others.
  • Plus point for candidate with additional skills and experiences in sustainable design expertise and specific sectors (retail and hospitality)
  • Possess own transport. Travelling may be required for occasional site visit and meeting including local and other regions.
  • Strong leadership skills with experiences in managing teams, providing guidance and fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Good understanding in project management principles. Able to manage multiple projects, budgets and resources efficiently.
  • Meticulous and well-organized with a proven ability to multitask within timeline.
  • Excellent communication / presentation skills.
  • Great customer service skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and manage daily tasks for self and junior staffs.
  • Solution-driven.
