Overview: An Electrical Engineering Technician specializing in Instrumentation and Control supports the design, implementation, and maintenance of control systems and instrumentation used in various industrial applications. This role involves collaborating with engineers and other technicians to ensure the efficient operation of automated systems. Key Responsibilities: • Assist in the design and development of instrumentation and control systems for monitoring and regulating processes. • Calibrate and maintain sensors, transducers, and control devices. • Troubleshoot and repair instrumentation and control equipment, including PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems, and DCS (Distributed Control Systems). • Conduct testing and validation of control systems to ensure they meet design specifications and industry standards. • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including wiring diagrams, calibration records, and maintenance logs. • Monitor system performance and make recommendations for improvements or upgrades. • Collaborate with engineers to implement control strategies and optimize processes. • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices in instrumentation and control. Qualifications: Education: • Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Instrumentation Technology, or a related field. • Relevant certifications (e.g., ISA certifications) are a plus. Experience: • Previous experience in instrumentation and control systems is preferred. Skills: • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and specifications. • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills related to instrumentation and control systems. • Experience with programming and configuring PLCs and HMI (Human-Machine Interface) systems. • Knowledge of process control principles and instrumentation technologies. • Familiarity with data acquisition systems and signal processing.
