JOB PURPOSE

  • Responsible to ensure that the company is in compliance with all safety-related regulatory requirements, including OSHA standards.

Required to- DO (Key Result Areas & Activities)

1. Health & Safety Inspection

  • Inspect, identify and rectify any unsafe act and/or conditions at project site in order to protect the workers safety and health.
  • Check on subcontractors works to ensure compliance of the relevant acts (OSHA 1994 & FMA 1967) and regulations.
  • Liaise with project engineers on daily task at site and arrange necessary working platform a day before for the work to be carried out safely.
  • Prepare necessary Permit to Work prior to start work, in order to check the mean of work area for the day is safe.
  • Advise the company on matters related to the Act & regulations for the company to be in compliance with the applicable laws and other requirements.
  • Notify the Department of Occupational Safety and Health within 7 days whenever there is any accident, dangerous occurrence, occupational disease or poisoning at site.
  • Responsible to ensure non-compliance raised by main contractors to company under safety and health are closed within 3 working days.
  • Conduct regular checks / inspections to ensure the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment at site.

2. Safety Training

  • Conduct daily toolbox/pre task talk at site for workers to ensure that the workers are educated on the safety procedures of their work which is planned for the day.
  • Ensure all workers and staff at the construction sites possesses the relevant certification for work to be carried out and have attended the necessary safety trainings.

3. Equipment Maintenance

  • Inspect all powered and non-powered tools at project site, before they are given to workers, in order to check all tools are safe and fit for their purpose.
  • Inspect all Personal Protective Equipment on monthly basis and to validate inspection sticker for the use of work by workers at site.

4. Report Submission

  • Prepare daily observation report at site for the day’s work and submit it to the main-contractor’s Safety and Health Officer to submit it to Client Safety Dept.
  • Prepare monthly Safety and Health performance report and submit it to Director General of the Department of Occupational Safety and Health before 30th of every month
  • Compile all inspection report of the month and submit it to main contractors of the Safety Department for monthly SHE Audit by client.
  • Revise and submit Job Safety Analysis monthly to client to ensure all works at site are in accordance with standard operating procedures.
