Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for developing and delivering Employee Relations strategies as well as maintaining positive working relationships between management, union and employees as well as with external agencies and networks.
- Lead and Influence Collective Agreement negotiations with the union. Managing grievance procedures, disciplinary and discharge within the company.
- Manage new and existing HR policies and guidelines including the employee handbook.
- Ensuring compliance with any labor requirements and standards such as the local regulations and where needed compliance with international standards for instance the ILO convention.
- Design, coordinate, integrate and deliver industrial relation strategy and activities company-wide.
- Maintaining positive working relationships with both management, union and employees to promote and maintain harmonious Labor and Employee Relations.
- Set direction, create policy and guidelines and offer expert advice in all matters relating to collective bargaining, corporate-wide industrial relations issues and any other matters pertaining to Employee Relations.
- Managing grievance procedures, disciplinary and discharge within the company.
- Foster strong links as well as the ability to negotiate and effectively communicate with senior officials from government, the community, trade unions and management groups as well as representing the company in any matters needing conciliation with the relevant governmental agencies.
- The job function listed is not exhaustive and shall also include any responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor from time to time.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in employee relations/industrial relations.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
