The M&E Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the mechanical and electrical works on construction projects to ensure compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements. This role involves monitoring, coordinating, and supervising all M&E works on site to ensure timely and cost-effective completion while adhering to all safety and regulatory guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision of M&E Works:
- Oversee all mechanical and electrical installations, including HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
- Ensure that M&E works are carried out according to design specifications, standards, and regulations.
- Provide guidance and technical support to subcontractors and site workers performing M&E tasks.
Monitoring and Quality Assurance:
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with M&E design specifications, quality standards, and safety protocols.
- Identify and resolve issues or discrepancies related to M&E installations and coordinate corrective actions as needed.
- Monitor the performance and quality of M&E installations and materials to ensure they meet the project requirements.
Coordination and Communication:
- Act as the primary point of contact between the project management team, M&E contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure effective coordination between different trades (e.g., civil, structural, and M&E) to avoid conflicts and delays.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of work progress, inspections, and reports.
Schedule and Budget Management:
- Ensure M&E work is completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with the project schedule.
- Provide input on project timelines and budgets, ensuring M&E activities are efficiently managed to meet deadlines.
Health, Safety, and Compliance:
- Ensure that all M&E works are performed safely, following all relevant health and safety guidelines and regulatory standards.
- Conduct safety audits and toolbox talks for workers involved in M&E works.
- Address any safety issues or hazards related to M&E installations on-site.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports for M&E activities.
- Document any changes or issues related to the M&E work and communicate them to project managers and other relevant parties.
Training and Mentoring:
- Provide training and mentorship to junior engineers, technicians, and other staff involved in M&E works.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and safety awareness within the M&E team.
Job Requirements:Education and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional certifications or licenses in M&E or construction management (e.g., PMP, CQSM) are an added advantage.
Experience:
- At least 5 years of experience in M&E supervision or engineering roles within the construction industry, preferably in large-scale commercial or residential projects.
- Strong experience with M&E design, installation, and commissioning processes.
- Familiarity with local building codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
Skills:
- Strong technical knowledge of M&E systems, including HVAC, electrical systems, fire protection, and plumbing.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Ability to supervise and manage multiple subcontractors and workers.
- Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with team members, subcontractors, and clients.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project) and construction management software (e.g., Procore, AutoCAD) is a plus.

Pay: RM2,027.39 - RM8,825.37 per month
