Unix Systems & Application Integration - Technical Lead

*Job Summary:* The Unix Systems & Application Integration Technical Lead is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of Unix-based systems and the integration of applications across the enterprise. This role involves leading technical projects, managing system performance, ensuring security compliance, and collaborating with various teams to deliver robust and scalable IT solutions. *Key Responsibilities:* 1. *System Design and Implementation:* - Lead the design, deployment, and maintenance of Unix-based systems and servers. - Develop and implement Unix system policies, procedures, and guidelines. - Architect solutions for application integration across heterogeneous environments. 2. *System Administration:* - Perform regular system administration tasks including patch management, system updates, and security hardening. - Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize system performance. - Ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness of Unix systems. 3. *Application Integration:* - Oversee the integration of applications with Unix systems, ensuring compatibility and performance. - Develop and maintain scripts and automation tools to enhance the integration process. - Collaborate with application developers and other IT teams to integrate new applications and services. 4. *Technical Leadership:* - Lead and mentor a team of Unix system administrators and integration specialists. - Provide technical guidance and expertise on Unix-related projects and initiatives. - Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team. 5. *Security and Compliance:* - Implement and manage security measures to protect Unix systems and data. - Ensure compliance with organizational policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. - Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments. 6. *Project Management:* - Manage and deliver Unix system and application integration projects on time and within budget. - Coordinate with project stakeholders to define requirements, scope, and timelines. - Prepare and maintain project documentation, including design documents, plans, and status reports. 7. *Collaboration and Communication:* - Work closely with other IT teams, including networking, storage, and application development, to ensure seamless integration and operation. - Communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders to explain technical concepts and project status. - Develop and deliver training and documentation for end-users and IT staff. *Qualifications:* - *Education:* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus. - *Experience:* - Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in Unix system administration and application integration. - Proven experience in leading technical teams and projects. - *Technical Skills:* - Expertise in Unix/Linux operating systems - Strong scripting skills - Experience with configuration management tools - Knowledge of networking fundamentals and protocols. - Familiarity with cloud platforms and containerization technologiesis a plus. - *Soft Skills:* - Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. - Strong leadership and team management abilities. - Effective communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
