Job Description

  • Develop and implement comprehensive merchandising strategies (Fresh Market & Grocery) that are in line with the company's goals and target consumer segments.
  • Analyze sales data, market trends, and consumer preferences to predict product needs, design product ranges, and launch new items or variations in response to demand.
  • Work closely with marketing team to source products that satisfy consumer needs, stay in line with brand values, and adhere to industry regulations.
  • Plan and oversee product placement and displays in shops or on online platforms in order to optimize sales, enhance the customer shopping experience, and maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Assess inventory levels on a regular basis and collaborate with the retail team to ensure timely replenishment, minimize return, and effectively manage stock turnover.
  • Build and maintain good relationships with suppliers, and negotiate advantageous pricing and terms to ensure cost-effective food and personal care merchandise purchase.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create and implement effective promotions, campaigns, and advertising strategies that support merchandising objectives.
  • Lead and guide a team of merchandising assistants, including training, performance assessments, and encouraging a collaborative work atmosphere.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 5 years of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
  • Demonstrate a strong analytical and decision making ability.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Opportunistic with an ability to maximize opportunities through skillful purchasing management.
  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a group.
  • Computer literate and proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Positive attitude, self-motivated, a good team player, disciplined, committed and able to work under pressure.
  • Strong organizing, numerical, negotiation and communication skills. Results and customer-focused with strong commercial awareness.
  • Business-minded with a passion for retail.
  • Experience in buying or purchasing will be added advantage.
  • Strong leadership with experience managing a team.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM1,800.00 - RM2,500.00 per month
