Key Responsibilities:

Counseling Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions to students addressing academic challenges, personal development, and career planning.
  • Develop and deliver workshops on topics such as stress management, study skills, and career readiness.
  • Serve as a liaison between students and other university support services, such as academic advisors, health services, and career offices.
  • Maintain confidential and accurate records of counseling sessions and follow up on student progress.

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily administrative operations of the Student Central Department.
  • Assist in scheduling and coordinating departmental events, orientations, and workshops.
  • Manage student inquiries and provide accurate information regarding university policies, procedures, and resources.
  • Maintain student records and departmental databases, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Support departmental reporting and documentation, including preparation of reports and analysis of student engagement metrics.

Required Qualifications:

  • Adv Diploma/Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Education, or a related field.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in counseling, administration, or a similar role in an academic setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a compassionate and approachable demeanor.
  • Proven organizational and multitasking abilities to manage counseling and administrative duties effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with student information systems.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in counseling.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in counseling or mental health services (e.g., Licensed Counselor, Career Coach).
  • Experience working in higher education or with diverse student populations.
  • Knowledge of student support programs and resources within an academic setting.
  • Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
