RF Drive Test Engineer

As a Drive Test Engineer, you will be responsible for conducting outdoor mobile network signal testing to assess network performance and coverage. You will play a crucial role in setting up testing tools, driving predefined routes, ensuring equipment functionality, and communicating any issues encountered during testing. Your efforts will contribute to optimizing network quality and enhancing customer experience. Key Responsibilities: 1. Perform Outdoor Mobile Network Signal Testing: - Conduct drive tests to evaluate signal strength, coverage, and quality of mobile networks in various locations. - Follow predefined procedures and testing protocols to ensure accurate and consistent results. 2. Setup Testing Tool in the Car: - Install and configure testing equipment and software in the vehicle prior to conducting drive tests. - Ensure all connections are secure and functional before starting the testing process. 3. Drive Around the Site Based on Desired Routes: - Drive designated routes as per testing requirements, ensuring thorough coverage of target areas. - Adhere to safety guidelines and traffic regulations while operating the vehicle. 4. Ensure Equipment and Software Functionality: - Monitor testing tools and equipment throughout the drive test to ensure continuous operation. - Troubleshoot any technical issues or malfunctions promptly to minimize disruptions to the testing process. 5. Communicate with Coordinator During Unforeseen Circumstances: - Maintain open communication with the coordinator or team lead to report any unforeseen circumstances or challenges encountered during testing. - Collaborate with team members to resolve issues and adjust testing plans as needed. 6. Travel to Various Areas: - Be prepared to travel to different locations and regions to conduct drive tests as required. - Adhere to travel schedules and coordinate logistics to optimize testing efficiency. 7. Send Test Files to Dedicated Drive Test Analysis Engineer: - Collect and organize test files and data generated during drive tests. - Transmit test files promptly to the dedicated drive test analysis engineer for further evaluation and analysis. You’ll learn: - conducting drive tests and mobile network signal testing. - setting up and operating testing tools and equipment in a vehicle. - Familiar with testing software and tools used for mobile network signal analysis (e.g., TEMS, Nemo). - work independently and follow predefined testing protocols and procedures.
