Job Description for Sales and Marketing Intern in a Life Insurance Agency

Position Title: Sales and Marketing Intern

Reporting To: Sales Manager / Marketing Manager

Job Overview

The Sales and Marketing Intern will support the agency's business development initiatives and assist in executing marketing strategies aimed at attracting new clients and supporting the sales team. This role offers practical experience in a fast-paced, client-facing environment with exposure to sales, branding, and digital marketing techniques within the life insurance industry.

Key Responsibilities :-

1. Sales Support

• Assist the sales team in identifying and reaching out to potential clients.
• Schedule appointments and follow up with potential leads.
• Support the preparation of sales presentations, pitches, and proposals.
• Maintain and update the customer relationship management (CRM) system.
• Participate in client meetings and note down key action points.

2. Marketing Support

• Assist in developing and implementing marketing campaigns for client acquisition and brand awareness.
• Create, edit, and post content for social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, etc.).
• Design simple marketing materials (flyers, posters, and social media graphics) using tools like Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
• Support in writing and editing content for newsletters, blogs, and email campaigns.
• Assist in organizing events, workshops, and recruitment drives.

3. Research and Analysis

• Conduct market research to identify emerging trends in the life insurance industry.
• Analyze competitors’ marketing and sales strategies to identify potential opportunities.
• Provide insights and suggestions for improving current marketing campaigns.

4. Administrative Tasks

• Handle data entry, report generation, and performance tracking of sales and marketing activities.
• Organize and maintain files related to sales activities and marketing collateral.
• Assist in administrative support related to marketing campaigns, including budgeting, invoicing, and vendor coordination.

Skills and Competencies

• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication to interact with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
• Sales Acumen: Basic understanding of the sales process and customer service principles.
• Marketing Knowledge: Familiarity with social media marketing, content creation, and brand promotion.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and basic graphic design tools like Canva, Adobe Photoshop, or Illustrator.
• Time Management: Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize assignments effectively.
• Research and Analytical Skills: Capable of gathering and interpreting data to provide meaningful insights.

Educational Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a diploma, degree, or certification in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
• Previous coursework in marketing, sales, or business development is an added advantage.
