IT Engineer

• Network Design and Implementation:

- Design, implement, and maintain network architectures and topologies to meet business requirements.

- Configure and deploy network equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, and access points.

- Ensure network security by implementing appropriate access controls, encryption, and security policies.

• Technical Support:

- Provide first-line technical support to end users via phone, email, or in person.

- Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues, and provide timely resolution.

- Escalate complex issues to higher-level support teams or vendors, as necessary.

• Network Monitoring and Optimization:

- Monitor network performance, traffic patterns, and resource utilization to identify areas for optimization.

- Analyze network logs and alerts to detect and respond to security incidents and performance degradation.

- Implement performance tuning and optimization strategies to improve network efficiency and reliability.

• User Account Management:

- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights across various IT systems and applications.

- Create, modify, and deactivate user accounts, reset passwords, and grant or revoke access privileges as needed.

• Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:

- Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, diagrams, procedures, and policies.

- Create user manuals, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge base articles for common IT issues.

- Share technical knowledge and best practices with team members and end users to improve IT literacy and efficiency.

• Data Backup and Recovery:

- Implementing and managing data backup solutions to protect against data loss and facilitate disaster recovery.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT networking and technical support roles
• Strong knowledge of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, etc.)
• Experience with network equipment configuration and management (routers, switches, firewalls, etc.) especially with Sophos Endpoint and ManageEngine
• Proficiency in network troubleshooting tools and techniques
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CompTIA Network+, etc.) are a plus
