Senior General Ledger Accountant

The Senior General Ledger Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial transactions and reporting. This role involves managing the general ledger, performing account reconciliations, and supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes. The individual will also collaborate with stakeholders to enhance processes and ensure compliance with corporate policies and guidelines.

General Ledger Management:

• Prepare and post journal entries in accordance with accounting principles.
• Maintain and update the general ledger to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Financial Close Activities:

• Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
• Prepare financial statements, reports, and supporting schedules.
• Analyze accounts to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.

Reconciliation and Reporting:

• Perform monthly reconciliations of accounts and resolve outstanding items.
• Prepare and review financial schedules and ensure compliance with corporate policies.

Process Improvement:

• Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Assist in the development and implementation of new policies and procedures.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with other team members and departments to meet deadlines and deliverables.
• Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations.

Requirements

• Diploma, Degree holder in accounting and/or finance or professional qualifications.
• At least 5 years of working experience in a similar capacity within a shared services set-up, preferably with experience in a commercial retail background.
• Meticulous, analytical, and a high degree of agility.
• Proactive in resolving matters, while being able to manage time effectively.• Highly committed and able to work independently.
• Stakeholder influencing; strong in communication and negotiation skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment are essential.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM4,500.00 - RM7,000.00 per month
