Job Scope: Failure Analysis Engineer Position Overview: A Failure Analysis Engineer is responsible for investigating and analyzing product or system failures to determine root causes and provide actionable recommendations for improvements. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to enhance product quality, reliability, and performance, ensuring customer satisfaction and compliance with industry standards. Key Responsibilities: Failure Analysis & Investigation: - Conduct in-depth failure analysis on defective products, components, or systems using advanced analytical techniques. - Identify root causes of failures and provide detailed reports with actionable recommendations. Testing & Diagnostics: - Perform tests, simulations, and diagnostics to replicate failure modes and validate hypotheses. - Utilize tools such as X-ray, Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), and other diagnostic equipment. Collaboration & Communication: - Collaborate with design, production, and quality teams to address root causes and prevent recurrence. - Communicate findings to stakeholders through clear and concise reports and presentations. Continuous Improvement: - Support design and process improvement initiatives based on failure trends and analysis. Propose enhancements to testing procedures, material selection, or manufacturing processes to improve reliability. Data Collection & Reporting: - Maintain a database of failure cases, analysis reports, and corrective actions for future reference. - Provide regular updates on failure trends, analysis outcomes, and preventive measures to management. Compliance & Standards: - Ensure failure analysis processes comply with industry standards and regulations. Stay updated on best practices and emerging technologies in failure analysis. Requirements: - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Materials, or related fields). - Strong analytical skills and experience with failure analysis techniques and tools. - Knowledge of materials science, manufacturing processes, and quality systems. - Excellent communication and teamwork skills to effectively convey technical findings. - Familiarity with statistical analysis and root cause methodologies like FMEA, 8D, or Six Sigma is a plus.
