Responsibilities: • Managing the financial accounting functions of companies within the Group. • Monitoring and managing treasury functions, working closely with internal business units on liquidity planning, cash management and funding requirements. • Establishing proper accounting procedures and systems to record all transactions accurately and promptly. • Enhance and improve financial systems, processes, tools and internal control policies and procedures. • Ensure financial statements are accurately prepared on a timely basis and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (Financial Reporting Standards, Income Tax and Companies Act). • Coordinating preparation of business plans, forecasts and budgets. • Provide financial information to inter-departments. • Assist in overseeing the daily operations of the department. • Ability to lead, coach and supervise subordinates to ensure timely completion of various group companies' financials for statutory, regulators and Board reporting. • Liaise with external parties such as auditors, tax agents, company secretaries, bankers on regulatory matters and others. • Support management in performing any other ad-hoc tasks assigned from time to time. • Undertake a regular review of how to increase the efficiency of the groups’ accounting function and reduce dependence on manual labour via the adoption of the latest IT technology, software, and work practices • Recommend to management the appropriate investments in this area, and upon approval, to lead the deployment of such technologies and/or processes. Requirements: • Candidate must possess a Recognized Degree or Professional qualification in accounting. • Member of MIA. • Preferably with experience in property development/construction/building industry • Conversant with the latest Financial Reporting Standards. • Able to work under pressure and meet reporting deadlines. • Positive and proactive attitude. • High degree of integrity, maturity and pleasant personality. • An independent and dynamic individual with good communication and interpersonal skills • Knowledge of IFCA/ACCWIN accounting software is an advantage
