Job Summary Cape Manufacturing (M) Sdn. Bhd. seeks an experienced and innovative Die Casting Engineer to lead and optimize our die casting processes. The ideal candidate will oversee the design, production, and quality of die-cast components, ensuring high precision and efficiency in manufacturing operations. Key Responsibilities Die Casting Process Management: Develop, monitor, and optimize die casting processes to ensure production efficiency and quality. Ensure proper setup and operation of die-casting machines and auxiliary equipment. Tooling Design and Maintenance: Collaborate with tooling engineers to design, modify, and maintain die-casting molds. Perform troubleshooting and maintenance of molds to ensure consistent production quality. Process Improvement: Analyze production data to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions. Implement new techniques and technologies to improve productivity and product quality. Quality Assurance: Monitor and inspect die-cast parts to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards. Work closely with the QA team to address and resolve quality issues. Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Address technical challenges in the die-casting process, including defects like porosity, flash, and dimensional inaccuracies. Minimize downtime by promptly diagnosing and resolving equipment or process-related issues. Team Collaboration and Training: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, production, and QA, to meet project objectives. Provide technical guidance and training to operators and technicians. Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety regulations and promote a safe working environment. Conduct risk assessments for new processes and equipment. Qualifications and Skills Education: Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field. Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in die casting or related manufacturing processes. Hands-on experience with die-casting machines and mold design is preferred. Technical Skills: Strong understanding of die-casting equipment, materials, and processes. Knowledge of mold flow analysis and simulation software is an advantage. Proficient in using CAD software for tooling design (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD). Familiarity with metal properties, heat treatment, and secondary processes like trimming and machining. Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Good communication and teamwork skills. Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
