Job Summary:

The Retail Assistant plays a key role in delivering an excellent customer shopping experience by assisting with sales, maintaining store presentation, and providing product knowledge. This role ensures the smooth running of daily operations in a retail environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service:

  • Greet and assist customers promptly and courteously.
  • Address customer inquiries and provide product recommendations.
  • Handle complaints professionally and escalate when necessary.

Sales Support:

  • Assist customers in selecting products that meet their needs.
  • Promote ongoing sales, discounts, and loyalty programs.
  • Achieve personal and team sales targets.

Stock Management:

  • Restock shelves and maintain inventory levels.
  • Perform stock checks and report discrepancies.
  • Assist with unloading and organizing new stock deliveries.

Store Maintenance:

  • Ensure the store is clean, organized, and visually appealing.
  • Arrange displays according to promotional guidelines.
  • Monitor fitting rooms and return items to racks.

Cash Handling:

  • Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system and process transactions.
  • Handle cash, credit cards, and digital payments accurately.
  • Perform daily cash reconciliation.

Teamwork:

  • Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth store operations.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Assist with special events or promotions as needed.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education: SPM or equivalent (retail experience is a plus).

Skills:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic numerical and cash-handling skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Personal Attributes:

  • Friendly, approachable, and customer-focused.
  • Reliable and able to work flexible hours (weekends, public holidays).
  • Attention to detail and willingness to learn.

Work Environment:

  • Retail store environment; may require standing for extended periods.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.

Pay: RM1,700.00 - RM2,500.00 per month
