Public Relations (PR) Job Description
Job Title: Public Relations Specialist/Manager/Coordinator (Depending on the level)
Job Overview: A Public Relations (PR) professional is responsible for managing and enhancing the public image of an organization, brand, or individual. The role involves crafting communication strategies, handling media relations, writing press materials, and managing public perception to promote positive engagement with the public, stakeholders, and media.
Key Responsibilities:
- Media Relations:
- Develop and maintain relationships with journalists, bloggers, influencers, and media outlets.
- Pitch story ideas, press releases, and media advisories to secure coverage.
- Respond to media inquiries and arrange interviews with company executives and spokespersons.
- Content Creation:
- Write press releases, speeches, articles, blog posts, and other communications materials.
- Develop key messaging and talking points for public-facing executives or spokespersons.
- Create content for social media platforms, websites, newsletters, and other digital channels.
- Develop and implement crisis communication plans to address potential issues.
- Strategic Communication Planning:
- Develop and execute PR campaigns and initiatives to promote the organization's products, services, or image.
- Monitor and analyze public perception of the organization and adjust strategies as needed.
- Work closely with the Director to align communication strategies with organizational goals.
- Event Management:
- Plan and organize press conferences, product launches, and media events.
- Coordinate with vendors, speakers, and media to ensure events run smoothly.
- Monitoring and Reporting:
- Track and analyze media coverage, public sentiment, and PR campaign effectiveness.
- Prepare reports on the outcomes of PR activities.
- Social Media and Digital Strategy:
- Oversee the organization’s social media accounts and online presence.
- Develop digital content strategies to increase engagement and manage public perception online.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Fresh Graduate in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field.
- Experience in PR, media relations, or corporate communications will be an advantage.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to think strategically and solve problems quickly.
- Proficiency in social media platforms and digital tools.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with journalists, and influencers.
Work Environment:
- PR professionals may work in-house at corporations, PR agencies, or freelance.
- May require occasional evening or weekend work, especially when managing media coverage or events.
- Travel may be required for media outreach or event coordination.
Career Progression:

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Fresh graduate
Pay: RM2,000.00 - RM3,000.00 per month
